Wendy A. Marx Wendy is a graduate of Binghamton, where she majored in French and then went on to work twelve years at the United Nations. During that time, she received her Master of Library Science degree from St. John’s University in Queens, NY. She is especially proud that she became a bat mitzvah as an adult. Wendy’s duties as a professional Judaica librarian led her to teach at three synagogues on Long Island’s north shore, and, she jokes, “It used to be name the day and I’ll tell you which tennis court I’ll be playing on. Now it’s name the day and I’ll tell you which synagogue I’m teaching at.” In 2001, Wendy received her degree as Certified Religious Educator from SAJES. She has been to Israel three times where she has twice worked on a kibbutz. A terrific athlete, Wendy is a powerhouse in so many ways. Vicki Wilson I was one of those rare kids who loved Hebrew School, and it was there I fell in love with the sight, sound, and taste! of being Jewish. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in English-secondary education from the University of Wisconsin and my Masters Degree in reading, K 13 from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. I teach reading and language arts at the Robert Frost Middle School in Deer Park and arrive for Hebrew after a full day, just as our kids do, so I know about their busy lives filled with sports and extra-curricular activities. I love having the chance to teach the younger children at Kehillath Shalom, and I try to make religious school as much fun and relevant as possible. I’ve shared my love of Judaism with religious school students for more than ten years and continue to take professional development courses, having studied at the Whizen Institute and attended several LITE and CAJE conferences.
